I’m Christos Birbos, and for as long as I can remember, technology has been part of my life. I started with robotics and programming about eight years ago, but what kept me going wasn’t just learning how to code, it was that feeling where I could actually build something useful, something that solves a real problem.
The turning point for me came as I started enrolling in hackathons and international competitions. I met people my age from other countries, saw how they collaborated, shared ideas, and supported each other. There were communities built specifically for young people like us. I couldn’t stop thinking about how much we were missing here.
And that was my trigger, because I know how much talent exists around me.
And so, the 0&1 community was born.
0&1 is a community for students aged 12–17 who are curious about technology, programming, and robotics. Not just in theory, but through actually building things. I want kids to feel free to experiment, fail, try again, and work together. Innovation doesn’t come from getting everything right; it comes from trying.
Ioannina is a city I love. It has a great quality of life, and I want young people to have reasons to stay here, to build here, and to dream bigger here. I want my generation to see technology as a tool we can use to solve our own problems—not something created somewhere else by someone else.
Young people are the future, and tech and AI will shape that future.
So why shouldn’t we, young people, be the ones building this future? Starting now, with the problems we already understand.
